I think I'm done seeing green for awhile - so I'm taking you back to Sweet Pink, Brown & White. And my Neapolitan Rice Krispie Treats!
It was only appropriate that I make these little Rice Krispie Treats for the baby shower. They were perfect for my theme, and I love Rice Krispie Treats!
I made them in a bread loaf pan~Three layers of goodness - Chocolate, Plain and Strawberry. Here's how~
Didn't have Cocoa Krispies - so I added Cocoa to Plain Rice Krispies.
After melting the marshmallows and butter~
I poured it over the chocolate rice krispies and pressed it in a greased loaf pan. Then I made the plain layer and pressed it on top of the chocolate~
And on top of the plain layer, I made a strawberry layer~
Strawberry Mallows - they are Berry-Licious!
I layered the strawberry layer over the plain layer (did you notice I forgot to take photos of the Chocolate and Strawberry layer - oops!) I think you've got the idea though.
Then I popped it out of the pan~
And sliced~
I sliced them in half one more time before serving. So we could all have more! And if I were having an ice cream party - I would have added little Popsicle sticks to each!

Deleteoooh! So fun! Maxwell had a great idea too about putting the popsicle sticks in for a summer treat! That strawberry layer looks too delicious!!

DeleteI love these, Kim! What a wonderful idea!!!!
ReplyDeletewow such a great idea, this is something I will be trying real soon...thanks
ReplyDeleteThese look great. How much butter and marshmallow did you use for each layer?
ReplyDeleteThanks! I used one stick of butter and one bag of the large (not jumbo) marshmallows. Then I divided that between the layers. I didn't really measure the rice krispies - just poured them in until they "felt" right. I hope this helps!
DeleteJust saw this on FB through SugarBelle. I made these for my daughter's Neapolitan Bday party, they are in the freezer waiting. Oh darn, I had to eat the "scraps" that I cut from the edges. I also used CHOCOLATE 'mallows for the chocolate layer (& chocolate krispies,)added 1/2 tsp vanilla to the vanilla layer and 1/2 tsp strawberry extract to the sberry layer. WAY good!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, that sounds great - more chocolatey flavor! Thanks for coming by! Wait until you see my Easter Treats!

You're very welcome! Thanks for coming by!
DeleteDo these keep for a few days?
ReplyDeleteDid you post the measurement for the ingredients?
ReplyDeleteCindy - I always use one stick of butter and one bag of marshmallows, melt and pour over rice krispies. I add more krispies until I feel that they are coated. I really SHOULD measure! Check on the side of the Rice Krispie box, I think there is a recipe posted there.
DeleteCan someone please tell me what to do so my Rice Krispy treats don't become hard as rocks very quickly after cooling??? PLEASE!
ReplyDeleteJacquie - it sounds like you're not using enough butter and marshmallows. I always start with 1 stick of butter and one bag of marshmallows - melt together and just pour over rice krispies until coated. Add the krispies until it looks very sticky. Hope this helps!
DeleteLove everything...the cake is just DIVINE!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great idea! I found chocolate/Vanilla Marshmallows that I used for the chocolate layer. They are cooling now, can't wait to sneak a bite :-)
ReplyDeleteI just made these for a bake sale! Instead of the strawberry marshmellow I used 1/3 cup of strawberry milk mix and they turned out great! I also used chocolate milk powder for the chocolate layer!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great idea!
